The Semi-Weekly Round Up: The Foot Fist Way, Meet Bill, Nim’s Island, What Happens in Vegas, Who’s Your Monkey? and Iron Man

Here is a bunch of posters worth mentioning that I’m obviously never going to get around to writing a full post about.

The Foot Fist Way

Ridiculously funny or just plain ridiculous? It’s hard to say. But it is a hard to ignore poster, and the tagline made me laugh.

Meet Bill

Not sure I want to. I mean, the guy walks around with a shirt that matches the wallpaper, weird.

More to the point, Aaron Eckhart looks a little strange here. Shouldn’t it be someone like Steve Carell or Zach Braff in the poster?

Nim’s Island

If I wasn’t such cold hearted cynical bastard I would probably think that this looks like a very entertaining and sweet adventure appropriate for all ages.

What Happens in Vegas

Perhaps this movie should have stayed in Vegas.

You know, for a guy who actually is charismatic, somewhat talented and liked by the studio people Ashton sure gets himself into a lot of shitty movies.

And yes, if the poster is going to call him just Ashton so will I.

Who’s Your Monkey?

Oh yeah, I got your attention now, didn’t I? I know just what you are thinking. “What is that monkey doing in the guy’s back? Did the monkey kill him? Why? And why is the poster asking who is my monkey? I don’t even have a monkey! Wait, is THAT my monkey?”

And in order to find the answers to these questions you will have to see the film. They really got you in a bind now, didn’t they?

International Iron Man

This one probably deserves a proper post, but after the last post about Iron Man I’m a little tired of talking about it. So let’s just say that I like this and that despite whatever problems I might have had with some of the posters I think that the Iron Man marketing campaign in general has been excellent. It certainly got me excited about seeing the movie, and that wasn’t even a little bit true about a year ago.

  1. Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

  2. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
